Manoir Dalmore: holiday in Brittany with the family (Finistère)

It’s a little paradise in Brittany, in the heart of Finistère, where the beaches are wild and the buttery and sugary crepes are savoury. Overlooking the family beach of Port-Manech in Névez, the Manoir Dalmore, with its Scottish feel, its large fireplaces and breathtaking views, offers an authentic and cozy base for families looking for fresh air.

With its old stonework, its its dark woodwork, its chimneys in which one enters easily and its small turret, Dalmore Manor reveals at a glance the Scottish origins of its first owner, an Australian art lover who fell in love with the region at the beginning of the last century. A hotel of charm and character, the Manor Dalmore is ideal for a family stay. On the program, beach and shrimp fishing in the summer, fires and long walks by the sea in winter.

3 good reasons to pack your bags for Manoir Dalmore

The very privileged location of the hotel: in addition to being 15 minutes from the very picturesque Pont-Aven, a small town known for its painting school and butter cookies, the Manor House Dalmore is perched above Port-Manech in Névez, a beach of fine sand with small wooden cabins typical of the 1920s. If you go down to the garden of the hotel to get there, don’t forget to pass by the hut where they keep all the beach toys, which are available to children.

Its intimate atmosphere of an old mansion, with all the modern comfort, which makes for a nice hotel from summer to winter. The hotel remains confidential with only ten rooms, which are very well insulated. At night, you’ll be rocked to sleep by the sound of the waves, and on winter nights you can enjoy the fire crackling in the fireplace of the common room. Children feel at home here, and it is not uncommon to see them head back to their room in their pajamas, climbing the carpeted steps on the beautiful dark wooden staircase.

Its family spirit: the hotel warmly welcomes the children, and everything possible is done to accommodate the stay of families. A folding chair, a cot, baby monitors (which work well despite the thick stone walls of the mansion), a high chair, a bath and a thermometer for the bath … The baby equipment is provided free of charge. As for foodl, the chef of the restaurant has a children’s menu (and even offers to prepare purees for babies), and you can warm up your baby bottles if necessary. It is recommended to book the family suite: it does not give a direct view of the beach but offers the advantage of being extremely spacious with its two adjoining rooms …

    A hotel ideal for…

… families who like authentic and intimate hotels, and who are interested in the environment: the Manoir Dalmore makes a point to raise its guests’ awareness of sustainable development and acts accordingly (the kitchen uses eco-friendly and regional products, their electricity comes from renewable energy sources, etc.).
