Le Soho qu’on aime en famille au Ham Yard Hotel

In the heart of Soho, a garden square and polished windows serve as the backdrop for this luxury hotel and sophisticated design that welcomes families. With a rooftop garden, 1950s themed bowling alley, and special attention to our kids, Ham Yard Hotel instills a little magic into your London escape.

The Décor
Here we almost forget the bustle and crowds that animate London’s Soho (especially during the weekend) in the sanction of this hotel halfway between Oxford Street and Piccadilly Circus. Trees are lit up at dusk to illuminate the square and choice stores line the terrace of Ham Yard (Once Milano, Bloomsbury Flowers, Caramel Baby & Child, Brummels of London).

The Location
A huge bronze sculpture by Tony Cragg welcomes you from the outside, setting the tone for what awaits you inside: creativity and elegance are hallmarks here and we gladly visit for tea time or an aperitif. The cozy rooms on the ground floor, like in the other rooms, are decorated with a mixture of colors, materials, and prints which are an ultra-modern take on traditional British design – a daring composition. An absolute must: the Soholistic Spa in the hotel, for a tonic facial or a “Power Breakfast” of oatmeal and fruit, a last minute wax, or indulge with the special Mum to Be massage.

For Kids
Cribs, a childrens menu, welcome gifts, and DVD selection: Ham Yard Hotel bends over backwards to satisfy the little ones, including little bath robes and a glass of milk and cookies before bed. Kids over twelve extend the evening with their parents at the bowling alley in the basement, a vintage room which reproduces the atmosphere of the fifties.

We Love …
…  to take a snack break in the rattan armchairs in the Jardin d’Hiver and enjoy homemade scones served with clotted cream.
… to get an impromptu manicure at the spa.
