This is a hotel that we have heard a lot about, and some of our readers have warmly recommended that we spend a weekend here with the kids. We went to check for ourselves and the verdict is irrevocable: the Hôtel Les Tourelles is a welcoming and warm place for small and large families alike, ideal to discover the village of Crotoy and the Bay of Somme (Hauts de France) in every season. A hotel just how you want it to be…
3 good reasons to pack your bags for Tourelles:
The setting: a castle with its feet in the water…
With its red facade and its two towers, the building looks like a fairytale castle, and it quickly awakens the curiosity of children. Overlooking the Bay of Somme and facing south, in the heart of the village of Crotoy, the hotel has been attracting a loyal clientele and new followers for 25 years. The simple decor, mainly composed of antique furniture, white, beige and pastel blue colours, creates a holiday home atmosphere where one feels very quickly at home.
True to its reputation, the hotel makes it a point of honor to welcome families with respect and a big smile. Customers love the family-style rooms (in the annex also called “the house of the priest”) composed of a double room and a room with bunk beds, separated from each other by a corridor, to give the children space and maintain the intimacy of the parents. For large families or weekends with friends, ask for “the room of the sailors,” a dormitory of 10 bunkbeds reserved for kids under 14 years. Unforgettable memories guaranteed … Before going to bed or during a meal for the grown-ups, the children have access to the playroom located just next to the lounge, to watch a cartoon or discover the youth library of the house.
For more than 20 years, the hotel has been part of an “eco-friendly” mission, and in 2007, it obtained the European Ecolabel for tourist accommodation. In practice, the house seeks to promote sustainable and responsible tourism: regulation of water and electricity consumption, reduction of waste, use of ecological cleaning products, a compost in the garden, a rainwater collector, enhancement of local plants, etc. At the restaurant and breakfast buffet, there are only seasonal products from local producers and artisans, whose origin is specified each time: mussels of Boulogne-sur-Mer, fish from the artisanal fishery Crotoy, Marquenterre snails, organic vegetables, fresh eggs, cheeses and jams from neighboring farms …
Les Louves loves…
