Casa Ortega, intimist hotel rooms in the city, Marseille

A three minute walk from Gare Saint-Charles in Marseille, in a tastefully decorated, authentic town house, Caroline welcomes guests as if it is their own home. The five intimist rooms of Casa Ortega allow small families to sleep three or four and provides everything necessary for the comfort of little ones.

The D
écor
On a small street that borders the Saint-Charles railway station and goes down to the Panier district, one easily recognizes Casa Ortega with its black and turquoise tiled facade. A very convenient location to drop the suitcases and go for a walk and particularly impressive contemporary design with a pinch of romance: a legacy of its history. In the fifties, Juan Ortega, a great castanet player, lived here with his young mistress who had left her family for him and soon after the couple disappeared without a trace…

The Location
The house, rather narrow and constricted on three floors, has been brought up to date by Caroline, a Parisian who moved to Marseille to live with her three daughters. The hostess sought to preserve the soul of the old hotel by adding her touch: graphic and elegant wallpaper – republication of the house Graham & Brown – warm colors to wake up the walls and vintage furniture to give each room its own identity.

For Kids
Used to traveling with her family, Caroline looks after her little guests for their whole stay: a cot or additional mattress can be easily installed in the more spacious rooms: 21, 22 and 31. In the kitchen and dining room on the ground floor, guests can cook a dinner or have gourmet meals delivered on site in case of a late arrivals. If parents prefer to go out, Caroline’s daughter, Prune, is thirteen years old and loves to babysit.

Les Louves Loves…
… the bold choice of colors and harmonies in the rooms (rust, gray, turquoise, and mustard) that perfectly fit the vintage style of the furniture.
