Dishoom : a family friendly Bombay cafe in Shoreditch

Have you had enough of burgers and pizzas? Take your kids to Shoreditch, a bobo area in East London, and share a plate of crunchy samosas and curry with a lassi at Dishoom. This elegant Indian brasseries welcomes you with a smile for a spiced family lunch.

The Décor
Dishoom is decorated in the post colonial style, with dark wood floors, the bar is covered in colorful bottles and there are big, comfortable booths. A plus: the veranda in the Jardin d’Hiver where you can lunch in sofas and arm chairs.

The Food
Biryani, curry, and naans, the great classics of indian cuisine are all on the menu, on which the chef had the good idea to indicate the spiciness for those with sensitive palettes. Among the side dishes, we particularly love the assortment of spicy, green vegetables and scrumptious- a great subsititute for the tired side of rice. Something to note: the menu offers gluten free and dairy free options for eaters with restrictions or allergies.

For Kids
The restaurant created a special menu for kids, with three exotic plates which allow kids to try new things and the spice is adjusted to their tastes. Dishoom has many high-chairs and a staff that welcomes guests of all sizes with a smile; they even offer kids a magic slate to occupy them during the wait between courses. The veranda, all bric-a-brac pleases children, who appreciate to eat comfortable on their armchairs. For the smallest, choose the grande-salle, which is more suitable for high-chairs. We suggest that you park your stroller at the entrance of the restaurant.

We Love…
… the ambiance which is perfect for lunch with the family, where tantrums by the babies go unjudged and everyone is received with smiles.

… Dishoom in the morning, for an “Indian Breakfast” which includes a bacon-naan roll or homemade granola.
