Le Petit Hôtel du Grande Large : A Hidden Gem on the Peninsula of Quiberon

Comfortable family rooms, a gourmet restaurant where your children can enjoy a nice, homemade purée while you relish oysters with caviar, waterfront location on the wild coast of Quiberon : Le Petit Hôtel du Grande Large offers a refreshing pause in Bretagne, to experience as a couple or as a family.

Hidden along the Portivy harbor, a very small village on the Quiberon peninsula, this hotel has the charm of the old-fashioned, seaside establishments, opposite the sea mist ; the ideal starting point for walks along the coast. For the decorative side, nothing crazy : the rooms are simple and practical bathrooms. However, this hotel is true treasure, one of those places that one would wish to keep for oneself in order to return for romance or a family vacation.

3 good reasons to make yourself at home at Petit Hôtel du Grand Large

  1. For the kindness of the owners, Catherine and Hervé, who welcome families in all respects, and the spirit of a vacation home with no fuss, which reigns there. The hotel offers two family rooms (with an unobstructed view of the water), equipped with bunk beds for the children and cribs that are kindly at disposition if necessary.
  2. For the gourmet restaurant (Michelin star) and the creative and incredibly delicious cooking of the self-taught chef, Hervé Bourdon : a big fellow with tattoos who is in a class of his own when it comes to producing dishes with subtlety and fantastic inventiveness, starting from a base of produce from the sea and herbs and vegetables grown in his garden. Opt for the set menu of 8 plates in order not to miss out on a moment of this journey of unique tastes. And for the kids? They are not to be outdone with their homemade purée or their pasta made by the chef, who is always delighted to serve the youngest guests. Once their meal is over, the parents won’t hesitate to put them to bed upstairs and return to finish their dinner in peace, a baby monitor sitting on the table.
  3. For the magnificent surrounding area, the walks at the heart of the wild coast, trips by boat in the gulf of Morbihan… The hotel seems to be at the edge of the world, with its bay windows directly overlooking the waves.

We love the library which is put at your disposition in the hallways of the hotel, in which the kids pick with delight their book for the night.
